A Little About Clearview

Clearview Estate is one of the oldest wine grape planting areas and the second biggest winery in Hawke’s Bay, New Zealand. With the help of the Mediterranean climate in Hawke’s Bay, there are well known for great quality of red wine grapes.

It was not an easy place to grow grapes naturally on the property at first. But the pioneering Hawke’s Bay winemaker Anthony Joseph Vidal challenged and finally first planted in grapes as ‘Vidals No 2’, in 1916.

Clearview Estate purchased this historical property in 1987 and was established with the first red wine from the vintage of 1989. Since then Clearview started to make various red wines such as Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon Blends, Syrah, Chardonnay etc. Clearview wines express well Hawke’s Bay own terroir, so achieve wide recognition about it.

As it is able to know from the company’s name, the scenic winery is located at very close to the beautiful seaside.
